Special Features:The name Black Rock is derived from the local graphite deposits thatresident Native Americans allowed the early settlers of NaugatuckValley to mine. Early use of the area by Native Americans has beenconfirmed by the discovery of numerous arrowheads and stone implementsonce used by Mohegan, Paugussett, and Tunxis tribes.
