One of a range of drugs similar in action to NON-STEROIDAL ANTI-INFLAMMATORY drugs. A COX-2 inhibitor drug refoecoxib (Vioxx) was withdrawn in September 2004 when it was found to increase the risk of heart attacks and stroke.
