Calpurnius Siculus, Titus

 

Roman poet of the first century B.C. Biographical information about him has not been preserved.

The seven eclogues which are extant suggest that Calpurnius Siculus was a court poet of the Emperor Nero. His work is characterized by the combination of didacticism with the bucolic genre.
