Blalock-Taussig operation (shunt)

 [bla´lok taw´sig] anastomosis of the subclavian artery to the pulmonary artery to shunt some of the systemic circulation into the pulmonary circulation; performed as palliative treatment of congenital pulmonary stenosis.
