The Junaluska Museum and Memorial Site, located in Robbinsville, is dedicated to preserving Cherokee history and culture with artifacts, artwork, and tools of the people who once livedhere.
Legth: 20.5 miles (North Carolina section); 43 miles (entire byway). Start/Endpoint: Byway spans portions of North Carolina and Tennessee. The route in North Carolina follows NC 143 west from Robbinsville, NC, through the NantahalaNational Forest to the Tennessee border. The Tennessee section begins at the North Carolina border and runs along TN 165 through Cherokee National Forest to the information station just east of TellicoPlains. Time to Allow: 45 minutes (North Carolina section); 2 hours (entire byway). Designation/Year: National Scenic Byway (1998).
