Campbell, Wendell J.

(1927–2008)A founder of the National Organization of Minority Architects, Campbell served as NOMA’s first president and was a mentor to many African American architects. The firm’s hundreds of projects included an expansion of McCormick Place, the DuSable Museum of African American History, the New Bronzeville Military Academy, and the Metcalf Federal Building, all in the Chicago vicinity. The firm also prepared redevelopment planning schemes for New Orleans, Las Vegas, Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Gary, Indiana.
