Blended Value

Blended Value

Describing a business model that combines profitability with social benefit. For example, a company that makes money writing grants for school districts has blended value because it carries the value of the company itself along with the added value of its social responsibility. Because ethics are difficult to quantify as value, the blended value is hard to calculate. However, retail products with blended value (such as free range eggs) are generally more expensive than comparable products without blended value.
