Elastic Bedding

a structural bedding, the deformability of which is taken into account during the design of the structure resting on it. The concept of an elastic bedding is primarily used in solving problems in the design of elastic foundations for buildings and structures built on soil bedding. The corresponding calculations use various theoretical assumptions describing soil properties, for example, a hypothesized coefficient of bedding rigidity, the theory of a linearly deformable medium (theory of elasticity), and composite design models of the bedding.
