Chevalier, Pierre

Dates of birth and death unknown. French officer and historian.

At the beginning of the War of Liberation of the Ukrainian People of 1648–54, Chevalier was a secretary at the French embassy in Poland. Chevalier’s works contain valuable information about the history and ethnography of the Ukraine in the mid-17th century and describe the principal military and political events of the period from 1648 to 1652.
