Cys·to·vir·i·dae (sis'tō-vir'i-dē), Provisional name for a family of monotypic bacterial viruses, the type species of which is phage Φ6. Virions are 86 nm in diameter, isometric, have lipid envelopes, and adsorb to the sides of pili of Pseudomonas species.
