Discontinuous Oscillations
Discontinuous Oscillations
oscillations during which, in addition to the comparatively slow variations that occur in the quantities characterizing the state of the oscillatory system, there are also rapid changes, or jumps, in these quantities at certain moments. The entire oscillatory process may be considered as a sequence of slow changes of state of the system that begin and end with an instantaneous change of state, that is with jumps or discontinuities. Relaxation oscillations are often considered as discontinuous oscillations.
