blind speeds blind speedsThe rate of departure, or closing, of a target relative to the radar antenna at which cancellation of the primary radar target by moving target indicator (MTI) circuits in the radar equipment causes a reduction or complete loss of signal. In MTI or pulse Doppler radars, radial target speeds that result in the target range changing by multiple half-wavelengths in the interval between the pulses. Under these conditions, the target is invisible to the radar. Also called blind velocity. |
