Canadian Anticyclone

(North American anticyclone), a region of high atmospheric pressure over North America; one of the seasonal centers of atmospheric activity that show up on mean climatic maps of the winter months over a period of several years. The Canadian anticyclone is conditioned by the predominance of anticyclones over cyclones in the winter atmospheric circulation over the northern and central parts of the continent.
