Corso, Gregory

Corso, Gregory (Nunzio)

(1930– ) poet; born in New York City. He spent three years in prison as a juvenile, then worked as a manual laborer, reporter, and merchant seaman (1950–53). Based in New York City, he was a central member of the Beat poetry movement (1960s), as seen in The Happy Birthday of Death (1960). He taught at the State University, Buffalo, N.Y.
