Abnormal growth of corneal or conjunctival epithelium into the interior of the eye, as a complication of a penetrating corneal injury and much more rarely following cataract extraction. It may cause secondary glaucoma as a result of cell proliferation through the wound onto the endothelial surface and into the iridocorneal angle.
