Established: Authorized on October 12, 1976.
Location:Near Danville, California. From San Francisco/Oakland area take I-80 to CA 24, then south on I-680 to Danville; from San Jose take I-680 north to Danville.
Facilities:Visitor center.
Activities:Guided and self-guided tours. Plays are presented in the old barn twice a year by the Eugene O'Neill Foundation in the spring and fall.
Special Features:Tao House was built for Eugene O'Neill, who lived here from 1937 to 1944. Several of his best known plays, including The Iceman Cometh, Long Day's Journey Into Night, and A Moon for the Misbegotten were written here. The site is preserved as a memorial to the playwright.
