Chichkaiul

(also Chichke-Iul), a river in Tomsk Oblast, RSFSR; a right tributary of the Chulym River in the basin of the Ob’. The Chichkaiul is 450 km long and drains an area of 6,150 sq km. It flows across the Chulym Plain. It is fed by mixed sources, predominantly by snow. The mean flow rate is 28.2 cu m per sec. The river freezes over in late October or November, and the ice breaks up in April or early May. The Chichkaiul is navigable 192 km from the mouth.
