Bloknot Agitatora

(1) Mass journal of the Main Political Directorate of the Soviet Army and Navy published to help army and navy agitators. Bloknot agitatora has been published semimonthly since August 1942. During the Great Patriotic War Bloknot agitatora was published in Russian, Azerbaijani, Armenian, Georgian, Kazakh, Uzbek, and Tatar. It printed materials on the heroic acts of the Soviet people at the front line and in the rear. The chief tasks of Bloknot agitatora were the explanation of the policy of the CPSU and the Soviet government on the development of the armed forces, propaganda of the revolutionary, military, and labor traditions in the armed forces, explanation of the requirements of the military oath and regulations, and generalization of the experience of army and navy agitators.

(2) A periodical of oblast committees of the CPSU published in local national languages and in Russian, usually twice a month. In 1968, 76 versions of Bloknot agitatora were published in the USSR with a total circulation of 45.4 million.
