Malignancy
• Primary—mesothelioma.
• Metastatic—Lung, breast, lymphoma, leukaemia; less often thyroid, endometrial.
Cardiac
• Acute MI;
• Post-heart surgery;
• Aortic dissection.
Trauma
Autoimmune
Infectious (e.g., Coxsackie B6)
Post-irradiation
Thrombocytopaenia
