Ferrite-Rod Antenna
ferrite-rod antenna
[′fe‚rīt ¦räd an′ten·ə]Ferrite-Rod Antenna
a magnetic antenna with a core consisting of a ferrite rod. The high magnetic susceptibility of ferrites makes it possible to construct ferrite-rod antennas that, for identical induced electromotive forces, are much smaller than conventional loop antennas, which have no core.
