Earth Pyramids

narrow conical formations with elevations up to 10-15 m, formed by boulder-clay glacial deposits (morraine). They are usually crowned by a large boulder or block; they occur when unsorted morraine masses are eroded by atmospheric precipitation. The large boulders on top of the earth pyramids protect the morraine mass underneath from destruction.
