Blysmus
Blysmus
a genus of perennial herbs of the family Cyperaceae. The inflorescence is a flat distichous spike. The flowers are bisexual and have two stigmata. There are three to four species, distributed in the temperate zone of Eurasia. Three species are found in the USSR, growing in swampy meadows. The most common species is the broad blysmus (B. compressus); B. rufus and B. sinocompressus are more rare. Some botanists include Blysmus in the genus Scirpus.
