Dahl, Robert A. Dahl, Robert A. (Alan)(1915– ) political scientist; born in Inwood, Iowa. After government service during World War II, he joined the faculty at Yale (1946). He authored many articles and books that examine democratic systems of government, including A Preface to Democratic Theory (1956) and Democracy and Its Critics (1989). |
