Derkul

 

an urban-type settlement in Ural’sk Oblast, Kazakh SSR.

Derkul is located on the Derkul River (Ural basin), 6 km from the city of Ural’sk. Population, 6,000 (1970). It is the site of the Ural’sk Building and Assembly Equipment Plant.


Derkul

 

a river in Voroshilovgrad Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, and along the border of Rostov Oblast, RSFSR; a left-bank tributary of the Severskii Donets.

The Derkul is 165 km long with a basin area of 5,180 sq km. It rises in a western spur of the Don Ridge and flows through an undulating plain. Its banks are for the most part steep and precipitous.
