D0007300 (dā′lē), Richard Joseph 1902-1976. American politician who dominated Chicago politics during his years as mayor (1955-1976) and was also an important figure in the national Democratic Party. His son, Richard M. Daley (born 1942), also served as mayor of Chicago (1989-2011) and oversaw construction of Millennium Park (2004).
