Chingtechen
Chingtechen
(also Fuliang), a city in China, in Kiangsi Province; situated on the Ch’ang Chiang, which empties into the Poyang Hu. Population, approximately 300,000 (1971). Since the late sixth century Chingtechen has been one of the most important centers of Chinese porcelain production, and it has been referred to as the porcelain capital. Its fine white porcelain is well known. The city originally made plain white ware but later, especially in the 14th century, produced decorated porcelain.
