Size: 16,118 acres.
Location:Lies on a ridge between Seneca and Cayuga Lakes in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. Accessible by I-90 and I-81; VT 17.
Facilities:Visitor center, 3 campgrounds, dispersed camping, picnic sites, trails (30+ miles).
Activities:Camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, blueberry picking.
Special Features:Includes 12-mile Interloken National Recreation Trail. Five acres of forest are managed for blueberry production; apples, raspberries, and other fruits are also abundant. During the summer, cattle is allowed to graze on forest property to help create habitat for the tiny Henslow sparrow, a bird found in very few places in the world.
