Electric-Field Coagulation
Electric-Field Coagulation
the formation of aggregates of particles from a dispersed phase upon exposure to an applied electric field (see alsoCOAGULATION). Electric-field coagulation occurs because the applied electric field deforms, that is, polarizes, the electric double layer near the surface of particles from a dispersed phase. (See alsoELECTROCOAGULATION.)
