Until 1984 it was widely believed that employers could circumvent the spirit of this legislation by segregating men's and women's jobs. Since then employees have been entitled to equal pay for work of equal value. Aggrieved employees may pursue their claim to an INDUSTRIAL TRIBUNAL. To determine whether different jobs are of equal value the techniques of JOB EVALUATION are used.
