Food Sovereignty

The concept that a group of persons have the right to determine what livestock and crops they will raise and grow, and therefore what they will eat. Food sovereignty is favored by some small farmers and others who prefer trade barriers and other measures to protect their traditional way of life. Critics contend that this is inefficient and more expensive than allowing the free market to regulate food production.
