fourteen-day GP referral

fourteen-day GP referral

A term defined in the context of the UK’s cancer targets, which were created in response to the 1995 Calman Hine Report. The goal of the 14-day referral is that a patient in the UK who has received an urgent referral from his/her GP for suspected cancer has a booked appointment with the oncologist within 14 days, to assess whether the patient does indeed have cancer.
