[dē′sen·sə‚tīz·ər] (graphic arts) A substance whose main ingredient is a gum and is used for rendering the nonimage portions of a lithographic plate nonreceptive to ink. A chemical used in photography to decrease the color sensitivity of a photographic emulsion.
