Chlia
Chlia
a lake in Khabarovsk Krai, RSFSR. The lake has an area of 140 sq km; its average depth is 0.9 m, with a maximum of 2.6 m. The banks are generally steep and covered with forest, but those in the southwest are low and swampy. The Podgornaia River connects Lake Chlia with Lake Orel’; the Glinskaia River connects it with the Amur River. The highest water levels occur in August and September, with a range of fluctuation of about 4.5 m. Lake Chlia freezes over in late October or early November.
