Chloraminometry
Chloraminometry
a titrimetric method for the determination of reducing agents based on the use of titration solutions of chloramine-T or chloramine-B. These reagents manifest oxidizing properties only in the presence of halide ions. The titration end point is established visually using various indicators, potentiometrically, or amperometrically with a platinum rotating microelectrode. Chloraminometry is used for the determination of As(III), Sb(III), Hg(I), Fe(II), I. nitrogen-containing compounds (nitrites), sulfur-containing compounds (hydrogen sulfide and its derivatives and sulfites), aldehydes, ketones, and other inorganic and organic compounds.
