Bogdanovich

a city, the administrative center of Bogdanovich Raion, Sverdlovsk Oblast, RSFSR. A junction of railroad lines to Sverdlovsk, Tiumen’, Cheliabinsk, and Serov. Located 99 km east of Sverdlovsk. Population, 25,000 (1967). There is a factory producing fireproof goods, supplied mainly by the plastic clays of the nearby Troitsko-Bainovskii deposits. Bogdanovich also has a crosstieimpregnating plant, a large meat combine, a dairy, and a technicum of mining and ceramics. Bogdanovich was founded in 1885 and was reorganized into a city in 1947.
