Bogdan Voitsekhovskii

Voitsekhovskii, Bogdan Viacheslavovich

 

Born Jan. 22, 1922, in the village of Soroka, Vinnitsa Oblast. Soviet hydrodynamics specialist. Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1964). Member of the CPSU since 1948.

Voitsekhovskii graduated from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute in 1953. In 1958 he became head of a division at the Hydrodynamics Institute of the Siberian Division of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, and in 1965, its deputy director. His scientific works deal with the detonation of gases, high-head pulsed and continuous jets, and pulse hydraulic drives and their uses in breaking rocks, percussion drilling, and metalworking. He received the Lenin Prize in 1965 for his participation in the research on detonation in gases.
