Bogodukhov

a city, the center of Bogodukhov Raion, Kharkov’ Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Situated on the Merla River (Dnieper basin). It has a railroad station. Population in 1968, 18,200. Industry includes an automobile repair plant, brickyard, dairy plant, fruit and meat combines, and furniture and clothing factories. There is a medical school and a museum of history and regional studies. Bogodukhov was founded in the second half of the 17th century.
