Balneological Clinic

Balneological Clinic

an establishment designed to carry out balneological procedures (mineral and sea baths).

If a balneological clinic has a department for mud procedures, it is called a balneological and mud clinic. Balneological clinics are built primarily at balneological and coastal climatic health resorts, as well as in large cities, sanatoriums, and so forth, where mineral waters are drawn from wells,. Balneological clinics at general health resorts are usually designed with 20 to 80 baths; balneological clinics at sanatoriums have six to 15 baths. Sometimes balneological clinics are combined with health resort polyclinics. Booths for immersion intestinal baths, shower-massage, irrigation, gargling, enemas, and so forth, therapeutic pools, showers, physical culture rooms, massage rooms, inhalation treatment rooms, and so forth, are built at some balneological clinics.
