D0020400 (dăn′bĕr′ē, -bə-rē) A city of southwest Connecticut northwest of Bridgeport. Settled in 1685, it was a hat manufacturing center until the early 1900s. The city was largely destroyed by the British in 1777 during the American Revolution.
