Boiler Bay State Scenic Viewpoint
Location:Off US 101, 1 mile north of Depoe Bay.
Facilities:Picnic area.
Activities:Whale watching, bird watching, tide pool exploration.
Special Features:Site is a steep, rocky bluff overlooking the ocean. It is one of the best places in Oregon to see ocean-going birds, including shearwaters, jaegers, albatrosses, grebes, oystercatchers, and murrelets. At low tide you can see the boiler of J. Marhoffer, sunk by an explosion in 1910.
