Activities:Interpretive and educational programs.
Special Features:Nearly 12 million years ago, volcanic ash engulfed this ancientwatering hole, entombing numerous prehistoric animals. A2,000-square-foot "Rhino Barn" protects part of the deposit, whereskeletons are unearthed and displayed exactly where they're found. Siteis operated jointly by the University ofNebraska State Museum and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
