Faruk
Faruk
(“Champion of Justice”), a Social Democratic group formed by the Bolsheviks under the Baku committee of the RSDLP after the Revolution of 1905–07. It was founded in order to spread Marxism among the Dagestani workers in Baku, who constituted a significant segment of the local proletariat. Faruk was headed by K. M. Agasiev and M. Aidinbekov. The group disintegrated after the arrest of its leaders, but in January 1918 it was reestablished and continued to be active in Baku and southern Dagestan until August 1918.
