Special Features:Sweet spring water made Ash Hollow a major stopover on the Overlandtrail, and the deep ruts carved by the thousands of wagons thattraveled the trail can be seen from the bluffs at Windlass Hill. Thesprings also attracted prehistoric Indians to the area. The history,archaeology, and paleontology of the area are interpreted at thevisitor center, Ash Hollow Cave, and other park exhibits andstructures.
