Common Management Information Services
(networking)Network management information services are used by peer processes to exchange information and commands for thepurpose of network management. CMIS defines a message set(GET, CANCEL-GET, SET, CREATE, DELETE, EVENT-REPORT andACTION), and the structure and content of the messages suchthat they might be used by "open" systems. In concept, it issimilar to SNMP, but more powerful (and hence more complex).
