Federal Executive Council

in Yugoslavia, the deliberative body, under the Presidency of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY), for political matters. The members of the Federal Executive Council are elected and relieved of office by the Skupstina (Federal Assembly) on the recommendation of the Presidency of the SFRY. Analogous bodies, the executive councils of the republics, are instituted under the presidencies of the SFRY’s constituent republics.
