Boké

 

a city in the Republic of Guinea, on the western end of the Fouta-Djallon Plateau. Population, circa 10,000. Boké is the center of a bauxite mining region with reserves of 1 to 3 billion tons. A joint company for the exploitation of the bauxite deposits has been formed by an agreement between the government of the Republic of Guinea and the international company of Halco.
