Boletus LuridusBoletus Luridusa mushroom of the family Boletaceae of the class Basidiomycetes. It is externally similar to Boletus edulis, but the underside of its cap is red and the flesh turns bluish when broken. It is distinguished from the Boletus satanas by its dark brown cap and by the elongated loops of the net “pattern” on its pedicel. In the USSR it is widespread in the middle zone of the European section and in the Caucasus, and it is sometimes found in Siberia and the Far East. It grows in the summer and autumn, primarily in oak forests. The mushroom is edible and classified as a second-category mushroom in nutritive value. Boletus luridus
