Bolshoi Maashei
Maashei, Bol’shoi
a valley glacier in the Bish-Iirdu mountain massif on the northern slopes of the Severo-Chuiskii Range of the central Altai. Length, 10 km; area, 19.25 sq km. The terminus of the glacier descends to an altitude of 2,180 m. The Bol’shoi Maashei recedes at an average speed of 6.5-7 m. The Maashei River, a tributary of the Chuia, rises from the glacier.
