Common Timing System
Common Timing System
the aggregate of points at a space launch center equipped with special clocks (atomic, molecular, quartz) and designed for the transmission of pri-mary frequencies and of precise time signals to a set group of users. The common timing system signals, transmitted from a single center to various users, make it possible to synchronize the operation of various systems and services of the launching complex as well as of the entire space center and to record the exact time of the start and finish of the working cycle of numerous instruments, devices, mechanisms, systems, and installations during the countdown, launching, and flight of space vehicles.
