Fisher, Ralph (Talcott), Jr.

(1920– ) Russian specialist, educator; born in Washington, D.C. Specializing in the history of Russia and Eastern Europe, Soviet education and indoctrination, and Russian social history, he worked as a resident in Soviet culture at the American Museum of Natural History (1949). He was a professor of history and director of the Russian and Eastern European Center at the University of Illinois: Urbana-Champaign (1960). His books include a Dictionary of Russian Historical Terms (1970) and a Source Book for Russian History from Early Times to 1917 (1972).
